Our mission is to rescue rats in need and provide a wonderful, caring, loving home for all of our rattie rescues. I keep all rats until they are placed in a loving home and I never let them go to homes as snake food. We are a small rescue giving us the time we need to spend and socialize each rat we have. We are located in Winner, South Dakota.

Rats need love too!

I have not adopted a rat from this rescue but have looked at their site, seen the critters on there and read about it. Rats make great pets and it is wonderful to see a rescue person dedicated to saving the animals often seen as throw away pets! Rats short life span is the only downfall to tehm as pets, they are intelligent do develop an attachment to their person. Please consider a rat as a pet, especially if you are considering a pocket pet already! Hamster lovers beware: I would choose about any pocket pet over a hamster, they are moody, bite without warning and it is tough to find a truly nice one, especially for a child's pet. They tend to not understand the hamsters sleep schedule and mood swings!
Pros: Rats make very intelligent pets!
Cons: Somewhat remote location
