Wonderful Rescue

posted 3 years ago

I was impressed that these Pyrs were in foster homes who did an evaluation. You knew before adopting if they were good with kids, other dogs or cats along with the reason they were adoptable.
I was a bit surprised with all the restrictions. My husband had to securely fence the yard before we could adopt. There were quite a few restrictions as far as the dogs were concerned, some I didn't quite understand at the time...
After getting my Pyr, I realized how different this breed is and that there was a need for the restrictions.
This organization strives to find good homes for these dogs and doesn't want the dog to go through the ordeal of being adopted, then returned... They really make an effort to make a good match between dog and owner.
If you have any questions or concerns, this rescue gets back to you ASAP.
Love my dog, and will always be grateful that Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue transported her to us...

Not an Honest Rescue

posted 3 years ago

I have to agree with the stolen dog comment. I too had lost my Great Pyr and they were less than professional, I did request other services before I realized what I was gfetting into. The man basically told me if my dog would have not been altered he would not have even called me back to let me know he thought he had my beloved pet. If that isnt dishonest I dont know what is!!! All the services were done on the front porch in the dark and it cost me a bundle to retrieve my own pet back!! This rescue was not a good experience for our family and I dont recommend them to anyone. In one scenatnce he tells me my dog was so beautiful majestic that he was almost adopted and then in the same breath tells me that he is underweight and what I should do with him.My dog was the best looking dog in that rescue from what I could see through the windows. There are pros and cons with almost everything, but there was no pro with this place and dishonesty or the admittance of the attempt to be dishonest is a deal breaker for me!! I found this place rude, unprofessional and way over populated for the size of these dogs.

Pros: None

Cons: Too many Animals at this rescue
