Beautiful little Jack Russell

posted 3 years ago

We lost a wonderful, strong-hearted Jack Russell to bladder cancer almost a year ago. We couldn't imagine replacing her, but we missed 2 dogs around the house, and our older Jack Russell needed a friend. We emailed Amy about a different rescue Jack Russell we saw online. She responded VERY quickly--that very night--I believe, and told us that although that dog had been adopted for months, she had others. She asked what we were looking for in a dog, and based on our answer, she suggested some others. We filled out an application, and fell in love with one little girl online. We drove to meet this dog, Amy, and the foster mom, and she was perfect. That dog is already part of our family. Everyone there seemed to be in it only for the animals, and they make sure that they are as healthy as can be. We took our Jack Russell for a wellness check at our vet within a week, and our vet confirmed she was in perfect health. I can't say enough good things about Amy. She's no-nonsense and, as far as I can tell, devotes almost every waking minute to the dogs. She answered emails almost instantly, she was there when we adopted our dog, and she followed up with a phone call soon after. If you're going to get a dog, get a rescue. And if you're going to get a rescue, go to Amy. But only if YOU'RE serious about taking on the responsibility of dog ownership.

Pros: Amy Hunt, her foster network

Cons: None

A good thing

posted 2 years ago

What Amy does is a truly admirable thing.

We fell in love with Luke's cute face on the internet, clueless to the events that led to his picture being posted there. When I went to see him, I found out that Amy had rescued him, his mother and his brother from certain death. I can't imagine life without him now. What a waste of a smart, loving, little bundle of love it would have been. If not for Amy and MBR we wouldn't have his sweet face in our lives.

The process of adopting him was easy and fast. Amy didn't waste any time in responding to our application and emails. I feel she truly cares about finding these dogs real, loving forever homes. That, coupled with the amount of care given to Luke before we got him (neutered, wormed, rabies shots, flea & tick protection) made it that much better.

I can't imagine it's an easy life, but I'm glad she chose it.

Pros: The care the dogs receive beforehand, the continuing concern afterward

Cons: none

Great rescue!

posted 3 years ago

I am familiar with this wonderful rescue group, they do outstanding work. They help many people, and animals.

All of their pets are TOTALLY vetted before they are available for adoption; alters, heart worm test, all vaccinations and any outstanding medical issues a pet may have are taken care of. They are very diligent about their placements. The rescue checks in twice a year to make sure all is well and offer help if needed. Great yearly puppy party!

The rescue is a foster network so pets live in home settings; you are adopting a known pet. Provides great insight into a particular pet's behavior and finding the right people-pet fit for the individual or family.

Just cannot say enough good things about this organization! Keep up the good work!!

Pros: Dedicated, compassionate, caring. Careful to find the best match for the adoptive family.

Cons: None.

A Big Thank You!!

posted 3 years ago

I adopted my JRT Carlton from this rescue. He was pulled from a dog pound after being left in a weekend drop box with his teeth knocked out from a boot and flea infested. This rescue is known for taking dogs in need and not just the ones deemed easily adoptable. I love the fact that they check in with me to see if I need anything. They even have a "puppy party" in September and invite all the rescues and adoptive parents for a picnic. Carlton has been a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you Amy Hunt and Multiple Breed Rescue for saving this little boy. I encourage people that want to open up their homes to a rescue dog to adopt from this organization!

Please Consider Fostering

After adopting my JRT from MBR, I seen a plea for foster homes. Since then i have had over 30 rescue dogs through my doors, all finding forever homes. From JRTs to Great Pyrs, I have seen emanciated, sick, hurt and scared dogs flourish due to Amy and the great rescue volunteers of this organization. This is a very compasionate rescue that pulls from high kill shelters across the state of Ohio. They take dogs based on who is in danger of being euthenized or needs immediate medical attention. MBR rescues the "ones left behind". Whether you are thinking of adding to your family or want to open up your home and heart to a foster program, please consider this organization. They are always looking for foster homes thoughout the state, transporters and volunteers for care and dog walking.

Pros: Caring, Compassionate

Cons: none

A Wonderful Organization

posted 2 years ago

As a foster parent for MBR, I have the great blessing of working with the most motivated and caring rescuer I have ever met. Amy is truly exceptional, as are each of the sweet pups that have spent time with me and my family waiting for their forever homes. The dogs have truly enriched my life and nothing brings me greater joy than watching them become part of the loving, well-vetted families that adopt them. I cannot speak highly enough of Amy and MBR!

Pros: Exceptional people and delightful doggies!

Cons: None
