Do you know what to do if you find an ill, injured or orphaned wild animal?

posted 5 years ago

This group is one of the only wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organizations in Atlanta, taking in all manner of ill, injured and orphaned wildlife, providing medical treatment if necessary, and rehabilitating them to release them back to nature.

I have worked with and known several domesticated animal rescue groups, but this group, also all-volunteer and non-profit, is one of the hardest working groups I've ever encountered. There is a training process, as well as a time-commitment, which is intensive, yet extremely rewarding. Because this group provides all the care and treatment, it's pretty much a 24 hour operation. At the same time, they're trying to build a state-of-the-art Rehabiliation and Education center.

The founder/director has over 20 years experience in wildlife rehabilitation, and imparts his knowledge and education to any one who will listen. Without this group, these injured, ill and orphaned animals would not have a chance of surviving in the wild, and without them, we would not have an earth to even have a future.

Pros: takes in injured, ill and orphaned wildlife for rehabilitation with goal to release back to nature; does education programs teaching the public how to co-exist peacefully with their wildlife neighbors and how to perserve wildlife habitats for everyone's future

Cons: none
