Traveller's Rest Equine Elders Sanctuary

TREES is an amazing organization run by Mike and Chris Smith. Mike and Chris work hard every day to ensure the horses in their care are receiving the best care possible. New arrivals are often fed four times a day, and many of the residents are given 'night time feeds' as many are dentally challenged. They make certain that each horse receives specialized care from the appropriate professional. Utilizing a farrier for hoof care, a dental technician for dentistry, a veterinarian for all things medical, and even complementary therapy such as Reiki. They also work to educate the public on the special needs of older horses. Traveller's Rest Equine Elders Sanctuary is best place for a horse that cannot live out it days with a loving owner.

I've been acquainted with Traveller's Rest Equine Elders Sanctuary (or TREES) for a couple of years and have done volunteer work there for the last year. You couldn't find more compassionate folks to take care of elderly horses than Chris and Mike. Their dedication is second to none and every horse at their sanctuary is important. Chris and Mike take the time to find out each horse's likes and dislikes and help them transition to their forever home. The feeling of love is abundant.
