These people dont really want their animals adopted

posted 2 years ago

I was looking to adopt a cat from Lifeline Animal Rescue as I found that they had beautiful and rare cats. As stated on their petfinder page I did not call them but filled out an online application. After a week I heard nothing and because they did not want calls, I decided to attend one of their events at the Watchung Petsmart. I asked one of the ladies if they had the cat that I was interested in and was given an awkward look. I was told that the cat that i was interested in, was not one of their cats. I showed her that it was listed on their petfinder site. The women then proceeded to say "maybe that is ours" and then was told that i would need vet records to even be considered, as if that would deter me from adopting from them. I decided to email this company and received a cold response from someone named Pam. I was told to fill out an online application and they would get back to me. I did not know why she would email that to me when I told her i already filled one out and went to petsmart. I feel these people dont care to really get these animals adopted. Its been three weeks now. Look elsewhere when looking to adopt.

Pros: Beautiful Animals

Cons: non responsive, unprofessional, unknowledgable

Unprofessional and awkward

posted 3 years ago

Not for nothing - but all rescues need a home. I'm an avid animal rights activist, vegan and owner of two senior pets.

Sadly - Pam never introduced herself to us, claimed that our dog would freak out an already disturbed kitten and basically claimed that we'd be unfit to care for her bottle fed, special needs kitten in foster care. I don't know why an online application is provided for pre-screening. I listed that my Siberian Husky was one of two pets and traveled over 45 minutes to only be declined.

These ladies at lifeline struck me as more of a "members only" adoption group. Perhaps because she knew what was best for the kitten - however she had a cat returned from a gracious family because all cats at lifeline have behavioral issues due to being intercepted during the weaning stages.

Sadly - Pam wasn't pleasant - whoever she was! Not introducing yourself was the worst move she could have made.

Pam and her crew were just really really awkward and weird, I'm so sorry for all of those cats and kittens.

Pros: They're an animal rescue?

Cons: Cats are with numerous dispositions and handicaps
