Help save one adoptions
posted 5 years ago
When i picked up my rescue dog, his papers stated he was heartworm positive. I was not told this. I went on line to email Marissa, and she had sent me an email stating she was just notified. I called the shelter in south carolina who advised me that these adoption agencies get a full report on the dogs health. i felt like i was tricked. I emailed her and she said the orgainization would take care of the treatment. she wanted me to go to another vet in another state that they use. i wanted to take him to my vet..she said that would be ok. i let her know when my appointment was and she said she would take care of the payment. well, when it came time for the payment...i had to pay over $300. She later told me that she was a day off..and i would be reimbursed. well, that was over a month ago. she keeps telling me she is working on it, but i havent seen anything yet. My dog is due for his next heartworm treatment, and i don't have $300 more to dish out. My next step is a formal complaint, or small claims court. I have all the emails showing how she is stringing me along...if thinking about adopting through this organization..think long and hard...there are lots of other ones out there...they all advertise the same dogs..
Pros: they do a good thing
Cons: still waiting for my reimbursement

Beware - do not donate !
posted 3 years ago
These people are scammers. They post pctures of "urgent" dogs on their website, with heart-wrenching stories; they are importing pictures of dogs from shelters in GA or TN, and asking you to donate to Help Save One - when they have no affiliation with the animal. They have no physical address, and the phone number on Zootoo is for a hotel in Providence. BEWARE !!
Cons: not a rescue, SCAMMERS

I adopted and support this group
posted 5 years ago
I adopted a puppy from this group last December. I also a financial supporter of this group. I found them very easy to work with and they did respond to all of my emails in a timely basis. After reviewing my application with family info, etc, Marissa approved me for a particular puppy that she thought would fit in our household (small kids, dogs, cats). The transport system is a little hectic because of the nature of this type of rescue and you have to be flexible. However, I will say that I did read all of their information on the website and the application and I understood what I was getting into. This is a small group doing alot of good and I have nothing but good things to say about them. We have had our dog for almost a year now and we couldn't be happier with him. He is a perfect fit for us. I can only say that you have to understand where these dogs come from before you agree to adopt from them. But I will continue to support them.
Cons: You are adopting/sponsoring from overcrowded underfunded shelters

They're a scam
posted 4 years ago
we are trying to get a dog from them and have been promised 10+ times that we could get our dog in the past week and we still have not gotten her. it is so frustrating when someone does that so we said something to them and they told us that they were gonna refund our fee because we were being impatient. IMPATIENT!! are you kidding me?! you don tell someone 10+ times that you are gonna bring them their dog and then cancel at the last minute. thats messed up. now my parents have three upset kids because we havent gotten our dog yet and probably never will. they are not good at communicating. they dont answer their phone or their emails. This organization is a scam. dont trust them.
Pros: ABSOLUTELY NONE
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM

Stay far away from these people
posted 4 years ago
I fostered for them a few times. Never again. This last time I got a sick puppy to foster who died the next day. I brought her to the vet and she had some genetic problem that couldn't be fixed. OK not the rescues fault. But they didn't pay the bill. I got the run around about the money was on a wrong credit card and will be paid, blah bla blah. they just stop returning your calls or emails. I have to now sue them for this money back. I also had a mama dog and 4 pups at the same time that they were adopting out with no health vet visit. They needed shots and they didn't do it. Just sold them as they were. They were treated for tapeworm and ringworm at the same vet and didn't pay for that either. Very poorly run organization with less and less fosters if they get treated as I did.
Pros: they have cute dogs
Cons: dont get back to you, dogs are sick, dont pay their bills
