Amigos de los Animales

Saving the Sato's is a tremendous responsibility - and from my seat, I cannot imagine the stress and emotions that it must entail. I have great respect for the people that work here and do what they do for the dogs. Many never had a fair chance at life - but these volunteers work tirelessly to change that. Charlie, my Sato, is about as good as a dog can get - and I never would have met him if not for these folks.

This is a dedicated group of volunteers saving dogs called Satos in Puerto Rico. Satos are street dogs who are living a sad life because nobody wants them.

The Amigos rescue these dogs, clean them up, inoculate them and send them to shelter in other parts of the States. It is hard on the dogs when they have to make the trip, but in the end they find good lives.

My son adopted one of these Satos from St. Hubert's and was lucky enough to get a great dog who is very social and playful. We think our next dog will be a Sato.
