It is great bedding for reptiles with high-humidity needs. My cousin doesn't have to worry about anything danerous added to the moss because it has been cleaned, color-enhanced, and treated with a non-toxic water-based preservative that prevents the color from bleeding. She likes it because it lasts much longer than untreated moss! No matter what you use, you have to make sure the living quarters are cleaned regularly.
