I use this product for my tarantulas. It is convenient in size and cheap. For it's compact size, it expands to 8 quarts of substrate when water is added. Make sure to clean out prey remains or add isopods (pillbugs) , especially if it is kept moist becuase it will attract mites and mold. It is very hard to only take small sections at a time because the original form is so dense. You have to use a small saw and even then it takes awhile.
