As a rescue group that takes in rabbits I want to say thank you so much for this post! I just posted a similar message on our webpage www.forever-wild.org. Every year within a few months of Easter we are quickly overwhelmed with "After Easter Bunnies"! We are first and foremost a wildlife rehabilitation center but as one of the other posters mentioned all to often unwanted rabbits are abandoned to fend for themselves in parks and other "wild" places. Many of these confused rabbits are eaten by predators, or die due to exposure to the elements. Here in Tucson we have the added danger of cactus!
Rabbits are the third most euthanized pet after dogs and cats. Bunnies can make wonderful pets but potential owners need to be ready to make a 7 to 10 year commitment! Read Less
