Midwest has a hard task of adapting the rescue framework to a type of animal that's very different from normal. Dogs and cats don't often bond for life, whereas for rabbits that's the rule. There is a lot you need to know in order to take good care of a rabbit, so potential adopters have to get a lot of information and follow-up to make sure the bunnies are being taken care of. Rabbits really need fresh greens and hay everyday in addition to pelleted food; dogs and cats will live just fine on a single dry food. Finally, since rabbits are an "exotic" pet species, EVERYTHING at the vet's costs more! I'm proud to support Midwest, and I wish I could have been there for the event! It sounds like a lot of fun!
