Ellen DeGeneres featured a groups of tough looking guys who formed an organization called Rescue, Ink. They are dedicated to finding and rescuing animals who are being abused. Oprah Winfrey recently aired a program about puppy mills predominantly located across the midwest where dogs are kept in wire cages stacked from floor to the ceiling. The footage of abuse was unbelievable. The way to close down these puppy mills is to get your pets from shelters, NEVER from pet shops. Millions of animals are euthanized every year while the puppy mills mass produce more and more to sell in pet shops, many of them sold who are sick or untrainable because of the terrible conditions they are subjected to in the puppy mills.
