I live near NYC and am often in the area of central park where I have seen these carriages lined up. I always give a horse or two a scratch between the ears. I have a couple of things to say. First, the horses look to be in good condition. Second, I see alot of carriages lined up all the time and very few ever with customers so I guess buisiness is pretty bad. Third, I agree that the streets of NYC are not a fit place for horses to have to manuever (for that matter it's not a healthy environment for humans either.) The traffic is crazy, loud and dangerous. BUT, I
also hate to see long time traditions die. Perhaps both groups could win by only allowing the horse carriages in the park proper where they would be safer, and be less incongruous to say the least. I can see both sides of the story and both have valid points to argue. I believe there is a way to make this work for everyone. Why do so many people have to see things only in Black and White......When you mix the two together, you get a very nice shade called grey, (or as I prefer to think of it, Silver!!) Read Less
