Many people get a pet without taking the responsibility of pet ownership, which means no matter what- they need to care for the pet for the life of the pet. Pet parents have the same responsibilities as human parents as pets are like our children. Deaths of pets would be needless if people would take responsiblity. I feel the candidates should stand up for pet shelters to place pets in good homes that will keep the pets and find good home for them with responsible pet parents. Read Less
