Having dogs of my own, I can't even finish reading that story without imagining my own in that position and how sad it is.

I hadn't heard about this story until now. Shelter puppies are in such high demand in Colorado that it is always a wake-up to hear about how they are euthanized everywhere else.

My dogs are definitely not pure bred but I always worry about them getting taken out of our yard just because they are so darn cute. It would be the most angering thing to have your dog stolen.

Good for Nike! I can only hope that if my dogs are suffering when they are older that I would be able to afford such a dramatic treatment!

I'm glad those kids got caught and I hope their parents supervise better in the future. If they hadn't been caught, who knows what this would escalate into.

I bet these dogs are happier than most, dogs love to work and know they are helping. I wish I could train my dogs to help out more just so they could gain some confidence.

I have never met a cat that was as social as these two! Their owners must have done some great socializing with them as kittens.

Pit bulls and pit bull mixes are not allowed in Denver. The law hasn't been around long enough for it to be known if there have been benefits.

I couldn't imagine being that security guard and seeing what was happening and not being able to do something. My prayers go out to him and being able to recover from such a traumatizing event.
