Just look at all the activity and participation in this ZooToo website to know that we are on the right track! It is through discussion, publicity and visibility that issue are addressed. When negative or cruel behavior is exposed on a broad and continual basis, people will adopt the positive path and more readily redefine socially unacceptable behavior...and as examples, there are far fewer fur garments seen around and their place as "status symbols" has definitely dropped....animal fighting for "sport" is reagrded with disgust by more and more people...Feathers as clothing and hat adornments has risen to the point of legislative prohibition (thank you, Audobon Society for being pioneers). On the positive side, rescue shelters and rescue missions are more widely sought and supported; people are more and more inclined to seek pets there before the dreaded pet shops with mill puppies. This is largely due to heightened public awareness and sympathy..this is due to publicity and discussion in public forums. As for the candidates, well, there are an awful lot of animals who live in voting households....how could any candidate ignore appeals from us voters? ....or from all these ZooTooers? I feel a roar coming on.... Read Less
