I have watched Second Chance grow from a system of foster homes with heart & drive to a small building with a huge heart & drive to match. What Sheryl & her team of dedicated volunteers have accomplished here is amazing. What they could do with the help of a Million Dollar Makeover would help change lives here & beyond. Second Chance is a model of what a shelter should & could be doing for animals. The spay/ neuter program here works - there is amazing outreach & support to the community just pouring out of these crumbling walls. Sure to the untrained eye and due to the dedication of volunteers cosmetically at first glance everything looks okay - but just look beyond that first glance and you see the hill that threatens to rain mud and water and debris down. You see the well worn cover of a tight tank that must be constantly pumped. You see there is no septic system, no ventilation. You see the multitude of fans that must run on a hot summer day just to keep the temperatures down - not comfortable mind you, just workable. You see the crumbling foundations and when you look close you realize there are no fittings to support them.
Second Chance is already a million dollar shelter in the eyes of the pets that have come through its doors, in the eyes of the Director and her entire network of volunteers - with your help Zootoo this million dollar shelter could function like one too ! Read less
