It's a great toy to try out! My dog used to play with tennis balls too and would either destroy them or the hubbie would mow over them in the yard with the lawn mower. These will withstand chewing/playing and are very durable. They are priced very reasonable - under $10 and can be found probably at any pet store, but I get them at Pet Smart. I always get the football cause my dog likes that the best and it's a little more fun to throw than the standard ball shape. I hope you give them a try and I'm sure your dog will enjoy it too! She carries it with her constantly and it's even been hit with the lawn mower and still survived. Our new pup has one too and with his razor sharp teeth and chewing habbits, he still has yet to damage his either. Read Less
