Hey! I had one of those for years and yes it did hold in odor and cat privacy. But I found litter out on my hardwood floors and it would scratch them. The litter would not be contained inside the box plus its not attractive and my guests would never talk about my old cat box. My friend bought me a new type of box that I have found no problems with as I had with others. My hardwood is saved. I now have my LitterHouse litterbox beside my fireplace in the living room and its litter catching tray that attaches to the litterbox catches all the litter from Piggy's paws. Its unique and antique as I say. I have a house and now Piggy's got one too.

I found it to complicated plus I like to scoop my cat's LitterHouse everyday as I am used to and you can't with this product. I found that the smell was not reduced enough. Its noisy my cat Piggy was afraid of getting in to it, I was scared it would injure my precious Piggy. I had to hide it as with my LitterHouse I now have it in my living room. My cat was so scared that it would hold going to the washroom for 2 days and then be forced to go on the floor. I packed it up and returned it. My cat Piggy is happier and has recovered from the noise. My new LitterHouse litterbox is simple and attractive and hard to beat. All the best.

he LitterHouse is a fully enclosed litter box for cats that adds warmth and charm to any room in your home. Inorder to keep your cat happy here are some important cleaning tips. First, use the handles disguised as gable vents on each side to lift the house assembly from the litter pan. Second, disconnect the 1/2 inch walkway from the pan. This walkway collects litter from your kittens paws making reuse of the spilt litter easy. Empty contents into pan and reconnect. Third, use a litter scoop to remove soiled contents from pan. An important maintenance tip is to use tray liners for your LitterHouse pan. This makes clean up even easier. Once a month remove entire contents from litterbox and gently wash and rinse pan using a pet safe cleaner. Dry off and pour in fresh litter. Daily clean up for less than 5 minutes is recommended your cat will be very happy. Finally, using gable vents as handles, lift the LitterHouse and reposition back onto litterpan. It is important to do this step gently to ensure correct placement. This way the unique all around lip can seal and prevent litter and messy spills. And don't forget about the odor blocking charcoal filter in the chimney.

This item has been used by maine coons and cats up to 22 lbs without any problems. Breeders and cat owners love this product because of its simplicity and quality. The item is made of a sturdy less pourous plastic so odor and urine do not penetrate into the plastic. Its very roomy and provides enough space so cats can get in and out very easily.
