As a foster parent for Stray Rescue, I am looking forward to meeting Forrest at an adoption event. As a "responsible" pet owner and foster parent, I can tell you that it can be difficult to keep a determined escape artist in your yard. We are currently fostering a pit who climbs/vaults over our fence. After the first time, he was not allowed out unsupervised, after the next time he was not allowed out without a training collar, after he saw something that needed to be chased so badly that he ignored the training collar, he is only allowed out while wearing the training collar AND a long line, and he is still paying a lot of attention to what he can see outside of our fence. I am sure if this family had been allowed to keep Forrest, they would have either installed a taller/privacy fence or taken other measures to prevent his escaping. Pits are very intelligent dogs and it sometimes takes several tries to find an effective way to deter them from escaping, so please don't blame Forrest's owner for being lax in this regard. Read Less
