*groan* This is unbelievable. I live in NC and volunteer at a county shelter. I'm well aware that we're not allowed to adopt out pure pits because of county law, and I hate that rule with a passion. I wish I could change it, but I don't know how I'd go about doing it. It's terrible that these dogs aren't given the chance. A lot of the pits we get are surrenders from loving families. Granted, some aren't (some come in abused and neglected and through dog-fighting seizures). I wish we were able to adopt them out. But the fact that the HSUS didn't even give individual temperament tests to the dogs is horrible. How dare they claim they're more involved in fighting dog-fighting than other rescue groups when they don't even work to change the stereotype put on the breed? Read Less
