There needs to be more government funding for animal shelters, rescues, and private rescues. Specially for non-fuzzy critter rescues. There are so many of us who rescue out of our home, that dont get funding, except for puplic dontions. Everyone who is involved in animal rescue puts so much blood sweat and sleepless nights into bettering lives. Who ever our next president is, really needs to address the conserns of animal welfare. As our economy gets worse, the homeless pet population is increasing. I know not all of them can be saved, but it needs to go from some being saved to most being saved, and I think more grants being available for expanding shelters, or funding private/out of home rescues is one of the ways to go. I know if I had some additional funding, I would be able to take in more animals. Read Less
