Congratulations to Stray Rescue of St Louis! They sound like a committed, caring, efficient and enthusiatic group of people who are clear in their goals to help more animals and educate and involve more people. As Richard said, though, every shelter is a winner due to the raising of awareness and plight of our shelters across the nation. However, until the politicians and media get behind this cause and support legislation that makes animal cruelty a felony offense, outlaws puppy mills, and introduce federal/state subsidies for spay/neuter programs, we will always be fighting an uphill battle. Every single animal shelter and every single volunteer deserves to be commended and recognized for the enormous and often heartbreaking work that they do. Stray Rescue of Saint Louis, we are thrilled for you and know that you will continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the animals on an even larger scale! As a member of the Danbury Animal Welfare Society, we extend to you our best wishes as you move foward with your makeover. Yes, we too would have liked to have won the makeover, but there are no losers in this. Let's keep the ball rolling, get the word out, and continue to speak out and advocate on behalf of shelters in counties, towns, cities and states everywhere!
