How can you tell the difference between a standardbred and thoroughbred horse?

Standardbreds tend to look a little stockier, aren't as likely to be tall and often do not have as pretty of a face as a TB. They do seem to have more variation in body style than the TB. I like the… read more

Glad to hear Bars has gained some weight! I know all about that expensive senior feed as we also have a senior 29 year old thoroughbred who gets Kent Dynasty senior mixed with Kent Omegatin. It seems to put and keep weight on our old guy along with soaking hay AND a lush pasture! I too have been spending alot of time around the barn trying to winterize the old guy for the long cold winter in Indiana! Bars is a neat horse and I love to hear about him! Read less
