Petplace.com just ran an article about a 13 year old cat in Iowa who has H1N1. It seems we can infect our pets, and they in turn can infect us with this particular flu. We're so focused on people getting it, but need to remember that our pets must get to the vet immediately if we notice any breathing problems, or even sluggishness. read more

OK, now this might sound weird, but it really works for pets as well as humans. Get a tube of Nupercainal Ointment and put some on the affected area. (Yes, it is for hemorhroids.) It immediately takes the pain out of a burn or scrape. I've used it myself for this purpose and my finger felt better almost in an instant. When you're finished using a burner, you might place a pot of cold water on it so that the cats won't touch it by accident. Read less
