Story 1

My neighbor was walking with her 15 yr old daughter and her beagle. As they passed a house on their street, a pit charged out through a screen door and attacked their dog. When they tried to pull the dog off, it attacked them. They were unable to get the pit to release. A contractor working nearby heard their screams. He ran over and hit the pit with a shovel several times before it would let go, and then it trotted back to its house. All three victims required a visit to the ER and stitches. The town confiscated the dog, but released him back to his owner. Now, the owner walks his dog, and stops in front of the houses of the people who spoke out against him at a town meeting. In the end, nothing was done, except that now my neighbor has a 6 ft stockage fence around her yard, so she doesn't have to walk her dog. This happened in a residential suburban neighborhood.

Story 2

My friends have a boxer. It was the husband's before they got married, and he kept it afterward. Then they had 4 kids (they now have 6). One day, the dog spazzed out and bit their oldest daughter (8 at the time) in the face.

My personal opinion is that pit bulls and boxers are bad news, and shouldn't be allowed to breed.
