Cruelty has a cause and hopefully this man will get the help he needs to become a better citizen and human being. Meanwhile, Lucas is in good hands, thanks to neighbors and a rescue center who were willing to get involved. In a similar case, the owner of a horse filed down his hooves until he could not longer walk. The horse has been rescued and is recovered. Who rescues sick people and helps them recover? Which is a question beyond the scope of animal rescue, but until we get to the root cause of cruelty in the human, animal rescue is the best viable alternative. Read Less
