I dont think children should be allowed to have small dogs. There seen to much as a fashion item not a living thing. Some exceptions can be made depending on age and other factors. We had a male and female shih tzu who had puppies twice before being spayed/neutered. One of the puppies died from being dropped down a flight of stairs by a child. They are also very playful and sometimes give a love bite which causes them to be brought back by familys with children. Read Less
