They said the pig is the closest thing to the human being when comparing vital organs, etc etc etc. So what they are also saying is, the human society is a bunch of pigs. And that is a degrading statement to the PIGS. There are too many alternatives available, including the use of HUMAN bodies to perform these tests. The usage of animals is just another way for these colleges, and product testing companies, to save a buck or two. Would you want YOUR dog (the college recently switched from dogs to pigs).....would you want YOUR dog to have his or her chest ripped open, while alive, and most likely awake....so they can see how his or her heart pumps? It's 2008. Don't we already know how the heart pumps? Or how about, would you want your dog to have his or her eye held open while shampoo is forced into their eye? No pain relief, fully awake, no way of escaping? It's 2008. Don't we already know that shampoo burns eyes? Why does all of this continue, when we have other alternatives that are BETTER, SAFER, and MORE ACCURATE? Read Less
