what a sad story but thank you for all the compassionate work! Also the state police. A few years ago we were driving to another state on a back road and my dog was going crazy so we thought he might have to urinate so we stopped on a lonely road. We could have turned right or left and decided right and a little ways down we found a very cold and injured dog laying in a stream. We were so upset didn't know what to do so ran up the road to a farmer who called the police. We were all standing there crying for this injured dog, so cold and misrable. I took my coat off and covered him. When the police came they put him into the back seat of their car and drove him off to one of the vets. the next day my boyfriend was ready to say we would pay to have him taken care of but they said they had put him down because there was no owner. It was such a sad thing to see that injured dog but I thought it was very strange because we could have stopped anywhere but chose that spot. We were no where near home and rarely drove that road. At least in his last moments there were people who cared. I did get mad because the police said earlier they had heard there was a loose dog running around. All this stuff just breaks my heart. Well that is my story and thanks again! And yes I am balling my eyes out right now for all the suffering. Read Less
