Shelters need to be for help whether it be for human or animal. Imagine yourself alone, without food or water, the very basics of survival. Suddenly, you are thrust into a barren wire enclosure with no one coming to help through the hot days of summer or the cold nights of winter. How confused and lonely the 72 hours before you die. That has been the plight of the thousands before dying in an antiquated gas chamber until mid 2007 when at least a shot is given. We are a rural county spread across quite a few miles and this would be such a wonderful way of going to animals for vaccinations rather than depending upon companion animals being transported by owners. I believe this would increase vaccinations; thus, helping the general population of being exposed to non medically treated animals. Read Less

It is truly good to have a shelter manager who is making a difference. The first steps have only been taken but each step is better than what it was.

It is truly good to see the adoption and rescue of each animal. It was so long in coming to see any improvement.

I have friends who take their pets to this vet and they are very satisfied with his care. The reason I do not attend is that I live in another city and have good vet care in a shorter mileage.

The present county commissioners are addressing some of these issues and have voted to do away with the gas chamber and will have to do something about a shelter as this present site is going to be torn down in a few years as the road is widened. I agree with you about this not being good for neither the dog nor the owner. The animal needs to be the pack leader but remeber that its owner is at the other end. Also, this is too much length whether just walking or training.

I was glad to read your comment for I too have trouble with chew toys for my babies. They demolish most within a few minutes! I'll give this a test!

I was glad to learn that these toys are durable and enjoyed by the dogs. I have been searching for these qualities so I'll give them a try.
