I think that if people were better informed about how to care for their new pets, with things like when to take them to the vet and how often, this kind of issue might be prevented. Some animals I could see maybe not needing it so much, but a cat? Cats are very independent creatures, and they tend to like wandering around the outdoors a lot, so I would think periodic vet trips would just be a standard. Read Less
