As the voting winds down in the finals I wanted to just recap a few things. Number one is there are 9 dog/cat shelters in the finals and 1 horse rescue. All are extremely deserving. Hi Gail- I am sure you have received all kinds of requests on this site from those in the finals. Our group didn't send out mass emails. We approached as many folks as we could. Why didn't we? most of us were out trying to help more horses quite honestly. I spent the day yesterday at a Parelli Horse event on behalf of Angel Acres to help spread our message to stop horse slaughter. Take a minute to view our video.. that is a small piece of what we do... the bottom line is we are the underdog in this contest- fewest supporters, only horse shelter, smallest geographical area- I could go on but I won't. I will just tell you that our supporters are voting not for Angel Acres but for the horses that cannot vote.. those that are loaded on double decker trailers (many are starving or injured) and shipped to Canada and Mexico only to be stabbed or inhumanely slaughtered..our cause is our message- save the horses.. Read less
