Description: I adopted Juicy Fruit and her sister Gumdrop after a teddy breeder passed away and her guinea pigs were taken in at the rescue I volunteer with. She liked to barber her sister so I had to separate the two. Juicy Fruit was the feistier of the two, but a sweetheart, nonetheless. I didn't know their birthdates but I guessed they were older. I really loved her and her sister. I still miss her.

One of the recent journals asked whether you remembered all of your pets names. I think I do, plus I remember a lot about my grandparent's pets, too. My dad raised rabbits and canaries as a kids, but I remember the two dogs his brother and parents had when we would visit: Blackie and Skippy. Blackie was a big black dog, very friendly. My unc… read more

I've read about chirping guinea pigs. They suddenly, out of nowhere, start warbling like a canary or a parrot...or whatever. But, I never experienced the sound until a few years ago. My first chirper was Ginger, a guinea pig I adopted from our local shelter. She only chirped during the night, when it was dark. It was so loud, it woke up our… read more
