100 heathly cats is way to many to be put down....I have been in your facility numerous times and its a great facility...but the fact is you do put healty animals down dispite the foster homes you do have and other resources you have....Maybe you should have a program to help spay and neuter animals at a lower cost for owners who cant afford to have that done at there local vet this may help the problem you have.But instead you pay to have the animal put down and pay for the disposal of them ....that money could be used to help people with there pets.I am not criticizing i am stating a true fact that you are not a NO KILL SHELTER. Yes I am from that area born and raised and i also have family and friends that do foster from your shelter.I do know more than what you think.And like i said right from the beginning you are a great shelter BUT you do put to sleep healthy cats and dogs.I do understand some need to be put down for sickness or injuries to bad that it wont help them.I know you have programs for spaying and neutering ,and not eveyone one like you facility has cell phones or computers or even a regular phone to hear what programs you have available and Your shelter is a cadilac shelter compaired to other shelters out there they dont have anything near what your facility has and they manage To be NO Kill Shelters they go above and beyond to help these animals and do not put them down.So i dont need to have a tour of your facility because i have been there and even behind the scenes believe it or not.So to put it to rest you are a Kill Shelter and help only what you can due to what season it is. I understand thats hundreds or thousands of animals come through there every year ....and I also seen and been at your facility and your facility is a cadillac facility compared to alot of other humane societies even in next county or state over.....they deal with alot less of a Facility than what you have and still manage to be No Kill Shelters.Maybe you need to go visit less fortunate shelters to see what they have and deal with before you judge me and tell me that your shelter is Outdated and need more space and more foster homes and volunteers.You have way more help than lots of other shelters and yet your shelter is still a Kill Shelter.I am so Tired of hearing come spend a day with us or we are doing the best we can.You collect a pay check everyweek for what you do....dont you?? I am not trying to make it hard for anyone and am sorry you feel that way because of you euthanizing animals....Hmmmm ....Is it like a lottery you pick the lucky ones and the unlucky ones go bye bye permantly!!!!! Wow....more and more excuses....yes your SPCA has decreased the numbers of Euthanizing animals .......... But you still do put down Healthy animals.!!!!! There are lots of shelters that are out there with way less means than your shelter... and also recieve hundreds or thousand of animals on a daily,montly ,weekly or yearly basis.....And are NO KILL SHELTERS & find a way to manage to take these animals and find homes for them. All I keep hearing from all of you is YOU DONT KNOW....Come spend a day with us...................we are short of volunteers and foster homes etc....My review is FACT and not fiction. There may or may not be an overpopulation of animals but the overpopulation obviously is seasonal unless there is a major animall rescue out there.But according to what you said this happens EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!!!!!There are gonna be times when things are gonna be rough but ther always a way through it.But Lots of other shelters manage and DONT EUTHANIZE because of "OVERPOPULATION"...to me because of that overpopulation excuse to euthanize is a cheap way out . Maybe if you spend alot more time trying to SPEAK for these animals who cant speak for themselves then maybe more people would understand..............And for those people whom hand animals in because they are Found,or someone Lost or cannot take care of because of finacial reasons turn to your shelter for help to find these animals new & good homes.......But instead you say sorry we are full & if you hand the animal over it will be EUTHANIZED....how cold can that be.........I understand you have a few idiots out there with the just dont care attitude and want to get rid of the animal.But how is that ALL the other peoples fault that when they are in a time of need and turn to your shelter for HELP....I thought thats what your facility is for TO HELP...............Like i said right from the beginning your place is great.........with the animals you have there....staff you have there....you all help out alot....BUT.....FACT: YOU ARE A KILL SHELTER!!!!!!!!!!!And as for my shelter ...they may or may not have all the answers but they sure hell try with NO EXCUSES!
