I did contact the breeder and they will give me a full refund, but I am too attached to her to give her back knowing that she will not get any treatment if I take her back. They offered to give me $250 for her problem to help out with medical costs, but that doesn't help much when the procedure alone is $3,000. As soon as I heard about my puppy's situation, I informed the breeders and they took the remaining puppies in the litter to get a physical exam, and they were completely healthy. They offered to let me exchange her for another of the litter, but like I said, I just don't have the heart to do it. They told me that they didn't take the puppies for a physical exam in the first place because the breeder is a nurse and administered the first shots on her own, so didn't feel the need to take them in.
