Retired Army so I can help out at the shelter. I believe how a person treats God's creatures shows ones true self. I love to laugh, sing, and play with my boys. Work was okay, but retirement is fun.

Our shelter DOES have a quarantine period. They DO screen. They even provide basic vaccinations and spay/neuters. Animal Control does not have such a requirement. If an animal is selected from ANIMAL CONTROL it will not be vetted. That is NOT a requirement and there is absolutely no money in the budget to add a vet. Rescues can only do minimal testing. Mixing the concept of shelters, rescues and animal control only causes confusion and misinformtion. Read less
