Thank you, I appreciate your comments. It's true, I think it's hard for folks to see how deep feelings can run for "nontraditional" pets. I am lucky that I work in a cat hospital and most of my co-workers understand my grief at the loss of an animal friend. I did, however, turn immediately to my other iguana-owning friends, because not only do they know the love of the species, but also the medical challenges inherent in treating them. Exploratory surgery is risky for any pet, but being a reptile, the risk was increased exponentially.
