Lab grown meat is scarry! The article says that the chickens are run through the scald tanks alive. I'm sure this happens once in a while where a bird is missed on the kill line.But when you are running thousands of birds in an 8 hour shift, it is bound to happen.(that isn't saying I am condoning it.) The percentages are minimal. I worked in a chicken plant for 6 years. Durring that time I did see a few chickens that had gone through the tanks alive, We ran 105 birds a minute and I would see at the most 5 birds a week that had been missed before scalding. I did hear where a person working for PETA got a job at a chicken plant on the kill line so he could take pictures of the birds that were alive going through the tanks. My opinion: He should have been doing his job and killing the birds that the machines missed instead of letting the live birds go into the scald tank alive.
I do agree that the chickens shouldn't be shot up with hormones and steroids to make them grow faster. I don't think it is healthy for the birds or for the people who eat the meat.
I think killing animals for food is a necessity,but it should be done in a humaine way. I don't think animals should suffer so we can eat.
I have nothing against Vegans, but for those who eat only vegetables and Soy. Aren't these plants alive? What do they feel when they are plucked from the ground or pulled off their stalks?Do plants have feelings? Are they not alive?
Just something to think about.

I say we were created to be omniverous, so if you like meat eat meat, If you like vegetables then eat vegetables. If you like both eat both. Read Less
