I'm so glad that Congo won't be killed. My german shepherd would have done the same thing if she thought that someone was harming me. They were in their yard protecting their owners. Perhaps there was some kind of language barrier between the dog owners and the yardmen. It's not like Congo went after the yardman for no reason. German shepherds are bred to be protective, and it is a desirable trait. The dog didn't know that was the yardman. All he saw was a man attacking his owner. If the yardman had been a rapist or murderer, the city would probably have given the dog a medal of honor. It's just unfortunate that there are people out there (dog haters) who always blame the dog.
