While grooming Lucy a few weeks ago, I accidentally cut her skin with my very sharp scissors. I panicked and slapped styptic powder on the cut. Normally I would know better, but it wasn't a very good day for me. Now I REALLY know better. Because of my mistake, she couldn't just get stitches. If the strap is too low on the chest, the fit needs to be adjusted. It should not be down where it will slip over the dog's elbows. To adjust the fit, shorten the top strap over the shoulders and lengthen the bottom strap under the rib cage. This will cause the front strap over the chest to ride higher and the dog will be more comfortable. The harness will also work better when fitted this way. Read Less
