Many of the shelters are situated in smaller communities. Towns where people connect with each other. Places where everyone jumps on the bandwagon to support a cause.
Here we are, a small shelter in a city of millions, and despite the fact that New Yorkers don't generally get involved with causes, leaving it to the other guy to do something, we still managed to get enough support to wind up in the top 20. The support we received wasn't in massive numbers of people who signed up, but in the amount of work those individuals who did, put into the competition.
It's that dedication and drive that will not fade away once the competition ends and for that we are thankful, but we really do need a new place. We've been hoping that we could purchase something with the grand prize. I hope Zootoo will see fit to help us make our dream come true.
