Thanks for your words of support here and about Sam. Sometimes I feel like I'm more an example of an addiction. I feel hooked on helping animals. I can't stay away. I wake up thinking about it, go to bed thinking about it, dream of it, find myself wandering off in meeting to think about it, on and on. Sometimes I do wonder if in some way we are addicted but at least its not self-destructive. And sometimes I think I keep myself in the dark as to all the bad stuff going on. I see more than enough in and around our shelter, so I avoid dwelling on it elsewhere. I don't read many of the stories about it here. Can't watch the animal planet anymore, etc. So I do protect myself from too much so I won't lose all hope or get so angry I can't cope. Self protection I guess, but it keeps me sane, keeps me motivated and inspired. I recommend it highly. Thanks and keep fighting and spreading the word. Read less
