Alligators control the population of SO many other animals and pests. They are a very important part of the food chain...which is why they are protected in many areas. Without them we'd be overtaken by deer, and other small animals. Those animals may look cute and innocent, but if you have too many of them they begin to spread diseases and start coming into our homes. Alligator attacks are not frequent, they don't attack unless scared or hungry. Obviosly the gator in question thought the dog was food. It's unfortunate, but natural. I'm just glad they were able to get to the little guy in time.
On a side note, and I think you agree: bad pit bulls come from bad owners...pit bulls are actually a awesome breed...especially with kids. Read Less
