Second Chance needs makeover help!
When Second Chance was built, it was built with community donations. The kennels are put together from donations of fencing. The excavation was doanted as well as a lot of the materials. However, it was built bare bones. There was not enough money for any of the extras. The shelter has grown so fast and is helping more animals than the shelter building can handle. They need more space. The kennels are small. The biggest concern is the growing cracks in the runs. This has damaged… read more

I don’t know where to begin or where to end in telling you about all the wonderful things that Second Chance Animal Shelter has done and hopes to do. They use every available resource they can find to do the most for the animals. Every square inch of the shelter is used to it’s fullest extent. They are only limited by the space that they have. To give them this makeover, you would be a HUGE HUGE asset to this shelter and your gift would reach out well beyond those 4 walls for many years to come. You would give them the one thing that they cannot attain on their own - a larger facility so that they can make a much larger impact in the community.
The community of supporters that Second Chance has is not only large but their dedication to the shelter is strong and unwavering. They stand behind the shelter and have every step of the way. The difference that Second Chance has made already in the community is nothing short of phenomenal. I can only imagine what they could do with a makeover. Your money would be well spent on this group of dedicated individuals and the shelter that has been a beacon of light for so many homeless pets.
They have found the answer to homelessness and suffering in animals by being aggressive with their spay/neuter programs. They don’t turn anyone away and make sure that they get the word out to the community that they do have this option to do the right thing, and at a reasonable cost.
Sheryl has been able to get veterinarians to come on board and get involved. This has had a tremendous impact. To take this to the next step with a makeover and get more veterinarians involved would really change things for animals. Even more, it would allow the programs to expand and get more shelters involved. This shelter helps so many other animal shelters, rescues and animal control officers. It is not just about Second Chance, it is about bringing the community of animal care people together. It would be wonderful if Zootoo and Second Chance could connect together with this makeover. This would allow even more outreach and the best possible team that I can think of to really make a difference for everyone.
Thank you Mr. Thompson for the creation of Zootoo. It has brought forth a new dimension and excitement in sheltering. I am very proud of being a part of this and look forward to what the future might hold.
