It may not be your dog coming in
We don't have one but our neighbors did. That is until the raccoon came in and tore up their kitchen. It was a mess. They came in to get the dog food.

Use under and around rabbit cages too
We never used these for our dogs but use them around and under our house rabbit cage to catch everything that falls out. They keep the mess contained.
