COULD PURPLISH GUMS IN DOG BE NORMAL?

After losing my 3rd Bichon in the past year and a half (ages 15) on Thursday, I decided to adopt animals that REALLY NEED HOMES. We asked the Shelter people in Picayune, MS which animals really needed a home--not that any do not. Yes, I gathered that cats are not like dogs. Meow 1 was never very friendly during his 11 years with us and so.." patience" is our virtue..Thanks
