This article brings to the forefront just how many methods there are to train dogs. While I would never endorse any excessive force, I also recognize that training collars are necessary with a few dogs that treats/praise just don't reach until later in their training. I prefer the treats/praise methods myself, but having been around dogs for almost 40 years, I am also familiar with other methods. I keep an open mind unless I see first hand someone mistreating a dog. Read Less
