I would like to see all our elected officials stand up for homeless animals. The way we treat our animals is a direct reflection on our society. There is no excuse for cruelty or abandoming a loyal pet. People need to be educated before they get a pet about what being a pet owner involves and what a responsibility it is. They are living, feeling creatures. The way a person treats their pet is a direct indicator of their personality, ethics, loyalty and honesty. I would not vote for someone who would allow cruelty to animals. We must not forget that the animals in our shelters were once someone's pet! Read Less
